Festive Season in Full Swing
Tuesday saw our lovely Llanwern ladies take over the club, bringing plenty of festive cheer with them! 🎄✨
They kicked off the morning with a couple of hours on the Trackman simulator, enjoying a mix of fun games and friendly competitions. Once the simulator entertainment was wrapped up, it was time for the main event — their annual Christmas lunch.
It was a fabulous turnout from members new and old, and the feedback from the day has been brilliant. A fantastic way to start our Christmas countdown at the club! ⛳️🎅
Our Wonderful Bar Staff Looking Smarter Than Ever!
Our fantastic bar team, led by James, have taken delivery of their new staff uniforms! The new sweaters and polo shirts proudly feature the Llanwern Golf Club logo with ‘Bar Staff’ embroidered beneath, giving our team a smart, professional look behind the bar.
Next time you’re in the 19th Hole, be sure to compliment them on their sharp new style!!
Llanwern Open’s 2026
We’re pleased to announce that entries are now open for all of our Open’s Events in 2026, taking place June / July.
These popular events are always one of the highlights of our golfing calendar, bringing together members and visitors for fantastic days of golf and friendly competition.

First Tee Upgrade Complete – Thanks to Kev!
This week, our one and only Kev Belcher has seen his latest project come to fruition. Kev has once again been busy putting his skills to great use, continually finding ways to upgrade and improve our golf club.
Project: Upgrade the First Tee is now complete — featuring fantastic new composite material tee markers that look absolutely superb.
A huge thank you to Kev for your continued hard work and dedication. It’s truly appreciated by everyone at Llanwern Golf Club!
Disabled Toilet Progress
Davlan Construction have been hard at work over the past few days, making excellent progress on the installation of our brand-new disabled toilet facility.
We’re pleased to report that everything is coming together well, and we hope to have the facility open and ready for use very soon.
Buggy Hire & Use
We would like to remind all members and visitors that golf buggies are not permitted to be driven on public roads. They are not road legal vehicles and therefore are not covered under the Club’s insurance policy in the event of an incident.
We kindly ask all buggy users to ensure they remain within the boundaries of the golf course and designated areas at all times.
We would also like to remind golfers to keep buggies in the rough at all times and stay behind the ropes and marked off areas.

New Hole Sponsor – Total Spray Solutions
We’d like to extend a big thank you to our new hole sponsor, Total Spray Solutions, for sponsoring the 17th hole. We’re very grateful for their support.
The company is owned by James Hood, older brother of our own Scot Hood. Having had first-hand experience dealing with James and Total Spray Solutions, I can personally and wholeheartedly recommend their excellent work.
New Winter Tees
As part of the club’s ongoing investment in our course and facilities, we’re delighted to announce the arrival of our new top-of-the-range Huxley winter mats.
These premium mats — the same model used at St Andrews — will be installed on the 1st and 10th tees. We’re confident you’ll appreciate the quality and playing experience they provide throughout the winter months.

Hole in One Alert
Massive congratulations to bartender extraordinaire Corey Williams on his incredible Hole in One during our Masters Par 3 Tournament last night!
Corey nailed his very first ace on the 5th hole with a beautifully flighted 9-iron—an absolute peach of a shot.
Well done, Corey, on this fantastic achievement! We’re raising a glass to you (and we know you’ll pour it perfectly too 😉). Here's to many more! 🏌️♂️⛳️🍾
New General Manager at Llanwern
This week we have been delighted to welcome to the Llanwern Family our new General Manager Dave Lewis.
It has been a whirlwind start for Dave but he has hit the ground running and taken it all in his stride. The future looks very promising with Dave onboard and part of the team.
Next week we will learn more about Dave, his background, interests etc etc in a Q&A where you can get to know him more.

New Leadership for Wayfarers!
Following two of the most exciting people in Team Golf Management, Craig Williams & Adrian Hughes moving on, the Llanwern Wayfarers squad remains in good hands. David Wood (pictured right) is taking over as Captain, Redge Slade as Vice-Captain, and Salvatore Scarpato as Secretary. This new management has a great foundation to build even more success for our Wayfarers squad.
We would like to thank Craig & Adrian for their support in growing Wayfarers Golf at Llanwern, and invite anyone interested in enjoying the best team golf at Llanwern for 2025 to get in touch.

Party season is soon upon us and our clubhouse at Llanwern is the ideal place to host your celebration. Our large versatile space can be used in a manner of ways and is suitable for all types of events hosting up to 125 guests from birthdays to wakes, and weddings to anniversaries – we are always more than happy to cater to your individual needs. We will organise as much or as little of your event as you want us to our flexibility allows us to cater for your exact needs providing you with your perfect bespoke experience. Venue hire starts from as little as £25 per hour.
