No matter how you look at it – this is a long hole!
Although the fairway is comparatively straight, there is a slight bend to the left just beyond the bridge, but don’t worry about crossing the bridge and the ditch just yet!
Your first objective is to drive the ball in a straight line from the tee, over the bank and probably short of the bridge. The bank is about 220 yards from the tee and the bridge a further 100 yards straight on. Do not hook the ball onto the path or practise ground, this is out-of-bounds. Do not slice it to the right because you will lose your ball if you do not clear the right hand side of the bank.
Your second shot, if you are near the bridge and have avoided the two bunkers on the right hand side is only 235 yards from ditch to green. Good golfers can reach the green with a 3 wood from here – others may take a 3 wood and an iron if very short of the bridge.
The green is protected by a bunker along its left hand side and another just to the front right. There is a slope from right to left.
