Yes – it is that long!
The fairway curves from left to right and is slightly uphill. If the wind is in your face it will be difficult for an average golfer to make the green in two. The description is for good golfers and is not the way I play it.
Your drive should be in the middle or slightly left of middle, and about 250 yards long, to give yourself a view of the green for your second shot. There is a bunker on the left side of the fairway if you can drive more than 300 yards. Your approach shot to the green will be a three wood followed by a nine iron or wedge, unless you can reach the green in two!
I use a driver, a five iron, possibly another five iron to play safe, then probably followed by a wedge!
Do not aim for the left side of the green on your approach shot – this is protected by a bunker – but aim to the right (up-hill) side. There is a good chance that your ball may roll on and downhill onto the green. The green runs right to left and back to front.
