Newport is one of the UK’s newest cities. Located on the banks of the River Usk in South Wales, Newport is the first city visitors come to on crossing either of the Severn Bridges.
In 2010 Newport was placed firmly on the international map as it played host to the 2010 Ryder Cup. Europe’s exciting last ditch victory against the US lead to the most exciting event in years and meant Newport earned itself a place in sporting history.
Newport city is home to various sports clubs including the Newport Gwent Dragons, Newport AFC and the famous Black and Ambers aka Newport RFC.
