In theory this is a simple hole – just hit the ball straight!
Of course, nothing is ever that simple. First of all, the entrance to the fairway is from a tee box that is protected by woodland on both right and left. Secondly, the fairway runs uphill and from left to right – quite severely – and if you are not careful your ball can run right down the hill close to the dense woodland on the right. Finally, you cannot see the green!
My advice – for what it’s worth – is to hit a straight drive about 250 yards to the marker post on the left side of the fairway. Do not go into the woodland on the left – reload if you do! Do not slice the ball around the woodland on you right side – reload if you do!
Your second shot should aim for the large tree uphill from the green if you can see the flag or to the middle left of the fairway if you cannot. The ball will roll downhill anyway. Do not over-hit because the course boundary is less than twenty yards from the back of the green. The green is protected by a grass bunker some twenty yards from the front right and a sand trap alongside the same side. The borrow is slightly left to right.
