This hole can be more difficult than it looks if the wind is in your face!
In theory, it is an easy five iron from tee to green, although the trees come into play especially if the tees or flag are placed on the left hand side.
This is one hole where you must hit it straight and accurately. A hook to the left can leave you on the third tee (please call if you go that way) and a slice to the right leaves you in the valley of shame with a difficult shot to get onto the green. If you are not confident of reaching the green, play it short and trust a good chip to keep you in play.
The green is protected by large bunkers to the left and right, large conifers on the left, scrubland behind and thick woods to the right beyond the bunker. It slopes slightly right to left and slightly front to back.
For myself, it is normally a five iron – then a sand wedge and two putts!
