Hit the ball straight!

The fairway begins about 150 yards from the tee box, just where it crosses the 16 th (please check that no-one is crossing the fairway before you tee off) and curves around the right hand belt of trees to the green.

The ideal drive is to the middle or left middle of the fairway without crossing the ‘out of bounds’ boundary, marked by white stakes. The bunker visible on the right from the tee is about 190 yards away to give you some idea of distance.

If you have made the ideal drive then your next shot is a simple lofted iron to the green. If you have not made the ideal drive you could be in trouble, especially if your drive is a slice onto the 17 th fairway. Then your next shot is still a lofted club (to get over the high trees) although your chances of making the green are minimal.

The green is protected by bunkers to front and both sides but landing in these is preferable to over hitting your ball beyond the green onto the pathway and probably over the rough ridge. The green slopes from right to left and from front to back.
